Achoo!

So we finally have a slow..er weekend and I get sick! This cold came out of nowhere and hit me hard. The plus side is that is has me really doing a whole lot of nothing. The kids and I snuggled in my bed and watched movies today. And that is some good medicine! Just me and my loves.

Memorial Day 2011

Human history has proven time and again that freedom is not free. Freedom demands a price, and that price is blood. Blood has been, and always will be the price of a free people. Today, I am thankful to the warriors, past and present, who have paid that price. However, I bow my heart, my knee, my mind, in worship and gratitude to Christ who has set me free from the penalty of law and sin.
 Today Is a day we set aside to remember those who have served this great land. I can honestly say that as a former Army wife..there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about the men and women on our armed services. I am proud to be an American and I am a proud to have held the title Army wife.
Today I think fondly on the men I know and have known who have served this great land. My Grandfather's Everett Pilkington (Army) & William Porter (Navy), My husband Sgt. Jeffrey L Chrisman (Army), Sgt. Jerry C***(Army), SFC Mike C*****(Army retired) & Sgt Robert G***** (Army). My son in love and another dear young man who are both still on active duty so I won't mention their names. But these are just a handful of the men I am proud to know.
God Bless our Veterans and God Bless the U.S.A!

Their coming home!!

I am just a little excited that Cassie and family will be here in 34 days! I can't wait to get my arms around all four of them! The kids are beyond over the moon..WE JUST CAN'T WAIT!!

Not only have we been blessed with a week of Summer Camp at Mount Hermon this summer but so have Cassie and RW. They are going to leave the boys with us and take this much needed week together to get refreshed in the Lord and each other. I am so very happy for them. And a BIG thank you to our dear friend Julie who helped make it happen for them.  We are so blessed to have the most amazing friends!

Printables!

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE lists! I carry index cards with me.....which by the way I need to add to my list because I am almost out of them! I have list for things to do, crafts, grocery's, summer clothes..what the kids are needing and I am working on a list for camp. Love me some lists! We won't go into when it doesn't look right I rewrite the list! I am also a bit ocd! lol

Another great blog that I follow TIDY MOM had a great link to some lists. You can click HERE for those great lists and a ebook.

So impish!

Just wanted to share this collage of my sweet grandson David. He will be 2 in August and he is every bit the handful his Mommy was!

We do...

Love this printable from PINK INK DOODLE. Head on over and grab them. Be sure to thank her!

It's only Wednesday!?

This week has been a rough one for me. Not quite sure why although I do have an idea. You see in 31 days the kids and I will be going to a family summer camp with some other widows and their children. For us it has been 6 1/2 years since Jeff went home to the Lord. We are the farthest out. I have not met two of the other women except for becoming friends on facebook. One family is 4 1/2 years out and the others are just 2+ years out and I feel their pain. I wonder if the Lord is helping me to remember how I felt so that I can have the words to share with these women? That I would come with an open heart?

As a widow you have to learn to suck it up so to speak. Life goes on around you and you have to live in this world. But, we deal with things personally and with our children that I would not wish on anyone.

So..It has been a rough emotional week. No sleep. Not hungry. Just going through the motions. So this morning when the kids left for school I sat down with a cup of coffee and the next thing I knew it was two hours later. Thank you Jesus! I am feeling better just having had a nap and being able to share. Would you pray with me that our family and these other three families would head to camp with open and willing hearts. That our children will feel "normal" being around others like them and that God will be glorified in all ways?

I love these verses.

Proverbs 3:1-8

 1 My son, do not forget my teaching,
   but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years
   and bring you peace and prosperity.  3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
   bind them around your neck,
   write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
   in the sight of God and man.
 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
   and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
   and he will make your paths straight.[a]
 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
   fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
   and nourishment to your bones.
